The idea here was to take that and remake it with Japanese fabric, sewn in Japan — real quality applied to something usually treated as throwaway. It's the first project for RINA, on our team.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\"\u003eMost cropped tees come with small frustrations — they ride up when you raise your arms, they draw more attention to the chest than you'd like. RINA undid each of those: extra room through the sleeve so it won't ride up, and a front panel sewn separately from the back, so it follows a woman's lines beautifully while the back keeps a natural fit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\"\u003eCreative Director daichi then layered on the graphic, the colors, the fit, and the placement. The color names are Japanese on purpose. \"Haizakura\" was the perfect word for this fabric — it reads as gray, but look closely and a faint cherry-blossom pink peeks through. English never quite caught that color; the Japanese \"haizakura\" did, exactly. To lift that hidden blossom, the print is rouge — a tone-on-tone choice, so the two bring each other out. On Sumi (ink), it's lemon — not mustard, not yellow, lemon: the squeeze you'd give a paella on the Mediterranean.
