ここ数年、夏のショーツといえばナイロン。速乾で、軽くて、機能的。
僕らも去年つくってみたけど、正直、少し飽きてしまって。
便利なんだけど、どこかガジェットめいていて、アウトドアの匂いが強すぎる。

機能は度外視で、革靴にも合わせちゃえるような、ただの短パンが穿きたい！
そんな天邪鬼な気持ちから、この一本は生まれました。

ウエストには、スピンドルでもゴム紐でもなく、平紐を。
Pepperには生成り、Blue Jeanにはサーモンオレンジ、Ivoryにはピスタチオの刺繍。

なんだかラフなのに品がある、そんなアイテムに仕上がりました。

A beach short cut from sweat fabric — though at just 6.4oz, "sweat" rather undersells how light it is. It's that feeling of throwing on a thin sweat on a cooler summer night, turned into a pair of shorts.

For a few years now, summer shorts have meant nylon: quick-dry, light, technical. We made a pair ourselves last year. But honestly, we got a little tired of it — handy as it is, it carries a gadgety, outdoorsy air. We just wanted a good pair of shorts, function aside — the kind you'd slip on with leather shoes to wander a quiet stretch of coast.

The waist uses a flat drawcord — not a round spindle or elastic — for a quieter, more trad feel. And the colors are where our eye shows: ecru embroidery on Pepper, salmon-orange on Blue Jean, pistachio on Ivory. One quiet stitch of color, and the whole thing looks sharp.
